Stick them together & what have you got,

A slug bait holder...

Cut the bottom off of an old drinks bottle about 2/3rds down
Take an old knitting needle fix the blunty end in the bottle lid
Cut the bottom off of an old polystyrene cup, about 1" from the bottom
Cut a disc the same size as the bottom of the cup from an old mouse mat

You can substitute anything you want that will do the same job.
This was just what I had laying around, when I nearly choked at what I saw what was being charged in a magazine for something similar...

Gently push the pointy end of the knitting needle through the middle of the cup bottom,
(please get a grown up to do it if you shouldn't be close to sharp objects Cool )
to make a small basket.
Push the mouse mat disc on the pointy end to hold the basket part of the way up the needle.

Gently lower the basket, fill with your favourite wildlife friendly slug pellets, & push back up the needle so that it is just level with the bottom of the bottle, slide the disc up to hold in place.

Push pointy end in ground and Bob's your Aunty...

Advantages:

It uses bits & pieces that were laying around,
It concentrates the slug bait, making better use of the attractant,
It keeps the bait dry, making it last longer, saving money,
It is a darned site cheeper than similar things being sold in garden centres for an awful lot of money...

I knew someone would ask,
I'll put some on soon (when the "young squire" is around to help), along with the raised bed ones that are "stuck in the camera"... Embarassed An empty coke bottle, A knitting needle, A used cup, An old mouse mat. Greensmilies-029

Just thought of another advantage, keeps the pellets in one place away from little fingers...

...if you'd added to the title 'a container of deodorant, some trail mix and a dvd' then you would have more or less summed up what is on my kitchen table at the moment!!
Seriously, pics would be good.
