That may indeed be a better way of doing it as the forum is growing (no pun intended)

Right, thank you, I was going to suggest that Mrs N keeps the listy thing, then each person contacts her when they are ready to send on for the next addy, that way each person only gets to see one address other than Mrs N, thought it might be a bit safer...

Well obviously people have better ideas than mine yet nobody offered to host a seed swap, just me.......so next time sort it out amongst yourselves, you obviously have better ideas than mine!

MRs N - you are very thoughtful for doing the swap in the first place - I don't have a problem with the way you are doing it

Ah Mrs N, it is really good of you to have done it at all, and you did it the way we have always done it in the past...which works really well....and I would have done it the same way as well...

but it is a good point spar makes... and its a point worth discussing...which is all we were doing...

no critisism of you intended.

Mrs N, no-one was criticising the way it is done at the moment, which is quite appropriate to the fact that we are still quite small in number and pretty much all 'know' each other quite well. The point was if we have a large new influx of members, it may become necessary to adopt a different approach.

Apropos of which, the parcel is on its way again today, in a South-South-Easterly direction.

I love seed swaps & the way Mrs N has sorted it is fine with me, but I do agree if we get a lot bigger the other option does have its merits.

:hug2: to Mrs N we do love you

It was an idea that I came up with once the swap was underway,
I was trying to make life a bit safer for all involved...

It was in not intended as a critisism in anyway shape sence or form,
I do not have the time to offer to run a seed swap as I work odd shifts &
I am very greatful that there is somebody who does...

I do appologise to you Mrs N, & Badger if I have caused upset on your forum & everybody else if I have stuffed things up by making what I thought was a harmless suggestion, & I will try to consider unexpected implications like this before making suggestions in the future...

Spar..I think your points are very valid..

if we do it again with more members I think we neeed to consider the points raised about internet safety and people's addresses...

for this one, we pretty well all knew each other...but in the future that may not be the case so what you said may well be a really good idea....

hope we can draw a line under all this now..and move on?

Who has got the seeds now I wonder?

Sparhawk - this seems to be more my fault than yours as this 'discussion' of safety of addresses only occured when I asked to be added - if anyone is offended by me being added please let Mrs N know or the person before me could remove everyone elses addresses before they send it to me
If it puts anyones mind at rest I am actually trustworthy and will not use anyone elses addresses for any purpose Neutral

Not at all Gail I had actually thought about proposing it anyway, I hope my appologies have found there way to solve any missunderstandings...
Anyway I would like to echo CW's wishes & draw a line under the matter...

Who'd have guessed it, the package came across the drawbridge at Sparhawk Towers this morning, I will give Polgara a shout "POL, THE SEEDS ARE HERE!!!!" & send the messenger out again on Monday...

Well thanks all, some very interesting bits in the package, bought some small envelopes this morning & only took the seeds I wanted so put the packets with some remaining back in...

Anyway the messenger is still resting, I think he got sea sick on the way over, so I have picked out my best carrier pigeon, given it a smart new rucksack & sent it flapping on its way to.......

I think everyone will have to put some seed out & see just how far north it can go Laughing

I now have the mental image of a little carrier pigeon carrying one of those old fashioned brown leather suitcases, full of seeds, with stickers on the case showing the variety of locations that us lot are in! smitten

Time for bed me thinks! nanight
