Hi - I've just joined
Hi everybody
Homemade has just started 'following' me on Twitter so I clicked on the link and, having found myself here, I thought this looks like an interesting forum so I joined.
I'm retired, living in Mid Wales, and am always trying to find ways to make things rather than buy them, wherever possible - almost every time I see something I fancy buying, I stop and think: 'I dunno - I reckon I could make something like that myself'.
Also, my wife and I are in the process of trying to get 'greener' - mainly by changing our buying habits, so I hope to learn new 'tricks' on here as time goes on.

Re: Hi - I've just joined
It's not that I'm shy Dandelion - it's just that I'm a firm believer in not saying anything until I've got something I want to say . Anyway, as you've invited me, I'll kick off with my very simple basic philosophies. I would like everyone to be healthy and safe; I would like everyone to be happy and I would like to see all of us take care of our planet, for it's future, our future and, particularly, for our children and those who come after us. I love the forum's mantra: 'Living simply, not simply living' - we all need to be constantly aware of the 'simply' element I think. There is an expression: 'simple but not easy' - maybe that holds a lot of truth. There you are Dandelion - you've coaxed me to come out with my two-pennorth - fairly obvious stuff, in a perfect world; but there's no harm in striving for a perfect world is there - what could be more noble eh?....
