I've made "wings" of two hangars placed handles together and duck-taped. Then you cover the hangar part with some pretty cloth and make shoulder straps.

Making a back of the door tidy, sort of like a peg bag but longer.
Make pockets for shoes or toys etc.

If you hang it on top of a door, then it can't slam shut.

Oh and if no-one hasn't mentioned it yet: a funky TV aerial, which led me to thinking, would be useful if you're trying to make a teletubby costume!
