Re: Ruth Goodman Interview
A lovely interview.
I am quite fond of Ruth, even if her enthusiasm for a thing can sometimes be a little irritating, her obvious joy of the craft is addictive

Re: Ruth Goodman Interview
Hmm. I find she is one of those people whose written words I respct greatly and set great store by, but 'in person' (on telly) gets right on my wick. See also Rick Stein, Nigella etc. I think it is a real shame the older beardy bloke who was the leader on '...Green Valley' did not continue with it. i thought he struck just the right balance - clearly hugely knowledgeable and at ease explaining things but not pandering to the camera or putting on an 'act of himself'.
Although in TV programming terms that is probably the very reason they didn't keep him on.

Re: Ruth Goodman Interview
Especially as he (Stuart Peachey) was responsible for actually rebuilding the whole of the Green Valley site, along with a few like minded historical re- enactment/historian friends.
I always thought he would be such a good TV presenter, bu he is probably far to busy getting on with real life stuff.
