Anyone make wooden toys ?  I was looking at the four rounds of oak which were waste from drilling 2" holes with a holesaw, and thinking that they were just asking to be made into wheels ... so, I thought I'd see what I could create.

So here it is, an 0-4-0 Saddle tank locomotive in oak and iroko:
Wooden toys Loco10

A fun way to use up little bits of scrap wood too small for anything else.

that's a lovely piece of work, CH. And just the right degree of chunkiness for small hands.

Love the attention to detail like the face of the boiler tank and the dovetails in the cabin roof. Fine work, thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. And I'm glad you noticed the dovetails - I was quite proud of them; never done them on something curved before, but I couldn't think of another way of making the cab roof secure enough.

C-H Jnr is too old for it (though he looked interested in what I was up to), so it will be a gift for my friend's little boy.
