Re: Hat Pattern
Have been commissioned to make one adult and 2 children sized ones
With some of my needle felted flowers etc added as an embellishment.....
Also have made a small version as a dolls hat which I have been asked to do 3 more, for friends...
!
Am quite astonished at the response and am part way through a matching scarf and matching gloves. Did tell the people I have only made this one before but they didn't care....
I went out and got more needles.....and all sorts of lovely stuff.
I now ( thanks to new bifocals hurrah!) can sit and watch TV AND knit at the same time, thus making me feel less guilt at "doing nothing watching TV"
which is an issue I struggle with unless it is after 10 pm and I have been on my feet all day.
I can now sit and watch something and knit whilst feeling I am still doing something useful...
damn my Protestant work ethic carp.....

Thank you all for your lovely comments.
I am very pleased that I have ( with help) cracked this and I am currently knitting some gloves and a cardi, FROM A PATTERN!!!
And I understand it.
Have added several new stitches to my rep as well. And signed up to Ravelry....and yes Mrs C...lots of time

Re: Hat Pattern
OOOooooooooooo Jelly, my sweeti, I love those hats! Fantastic.
I'm gonna print off your lovely pattern and have a go myself.. probably end up a mess of holes, but you gotta start somewhere!
CW, you have done well for a beginner.... well done you

Re: Hat Pattern
The wool was still on the market stall today so I bought it. I asked if he'd split it and sell me 4 balls for £5 but it was all or nothing so I got it all. Sadly, he said he wouldn't be getting any more when I asked about different colours
Will start a new grey hat soon for myself and make another and think about who to give it to

Well done Ang, it is a lovely colour and I am sure you can find a home for whatever you knit from it....

Re: Hat Pattern
bit late off the mark, but WOW! there are some great hats being made here! Well done all, looks like you've been having fun with those. CW - for someone that's only just started following patterns, looks like you've cracked it! Fantastic!
Re: Hat Pattern
Thank you BB, I have been using my time while in front of the TV to follow various dishcloth patterns which have had me practicing different stitches.
I am pleased, and the dishcloths are much nicer than shop bought ones.

Re: Hat Pattern
ooh, post up your dish cloth patterns - I've been wanting to make some of these too. What yarn did you use?
Re: Hat Pattern
Three ply cotton, will go and look for what it says on the label.
Nice and relaxing stuff, fairly low brain power needed!

Re: Hat Pattern
Just finished sewing some sequins on the hat made from the lovely grey wool I got.
I hope the intended recipient likes it as much as I do. I'm very pleased with it
