Hey hey from NJ USA
Hello friends and Adrian,
I just read your invite on FaceBook associated with Mother Earth News "Learning to Live a Self Sufficient Life." I live in urban NJ USA with my husband and our three dogs, Cindi, Circa, and Max, in an historic home. I have been educating myself about where our food comes from, how animals are used for entertainment and fashion, the dangers of hormone mimickers, petrochemicals, and GMOs. The more I learn, the more self sustaining I become. I'd like to learn more from this group, especially how to be fully self sufficient one day -- living simply but not simply living.
I have an organic veggie and herb garden, and like to bake wheat-free artisan breads, and make healthy foods from scratch. Yesterday, I made a batch of yogurt cheese, a batch of hummus, and a batch of salsa. And I finished putting in most of my garden -- there are still a few plants that need to go in, and I may purchase more...
I practice integrative medicine. Sunlight, exercise, spirituality, mediation, healthy eating are all very good for the mind, body, and soul. I use supplements/vitamins and I eat wild caught fish and some organic, free-range chicken/fowl. I don't eat anything with fur. I make my own dog food -- they eat organic, too, and nothing with fur.
Thanks for having me as part of your group. I hope to learn from each of you, and contribute what I know to the group.

Re: Hey hey from NJ USA
Hi Hoopers, welcome. I've been planting out our veg patch and making a green roof on the new potting shed so haven't been in much. Good to hear from you.
