Bruising Barley

I have the chance to buy some Barley as a supplementary feed for the sheep this year. Only problem is that the barley needs to be bruised so that the sheep can digest it properly. Any ideas how I can do this in large quantities?
I think I would be bruising about 10 lbs per day

I think you would need machinery to do it sensibly in any quantity. You could do it with an old threshing flail thingy outside on the patio, but I suspect that would be an activity that would become quite old quite quickly.

I used to take mine to a stables that had the kit. Very noisy but did a few sacks very quickly. If you do find somewhere remember that the bulk increases quite a lot so you need a bigger vat than just the sacks.
