Sorry about not being able to make it. But hopefully when we move we will be a bit nearer "up the road" so to speak, so we WILL get to meet.

Finances have taken a hammering in recent times, and a strict budget is now being adhered to, especially after middle daughter had to go to Cardiff two days running for interviews - that's the fuel money for this week AND next . . .

Have a good time anyway.

Sarah - can you PM us with the directions address to your place ? Without them I'm afraid we're going to be driving around in circles for hours !!

I fear we shan't be able to make it: animals preclude overnight stay and it is a bit far for the children to cope with a day return.
Shame as it would have been nice to meet up with y'all.

Likewise. Or at least a postcode I can shove into Google before I set off... assuming I can get away that is.

Do I not just put in Compost Mansions as my destination? I assumed my satnav would cope with that. Wink

Definitely. The next time I don't have a slightly homesick & testy teenager in tow I'll make a point of it - I really want to see your land & hear everything about what you're doing with it!

OK final call people, who wants to come to mine on the 14/15th?

I have found it really nice in the past, and would like it very much, if we shared a "pot luck" evening meal/afternoon tea on Sat, so if people could bring some food for us all to share during the afternoon (cake would be good!) or perhaps something to eat in the evening, if you are staying?

I will provide fresh bread, butter /vegan spread, tomatoes, cucumber, cake, jam, pickles, potatos of some sort (probably in mayo), and maybe veg soup if it is a cold day. I promise you won't go hungry!

And cider. of course. And tea/coffee/squash etc of course, as the host we expect to keep you well topped up with drink!.

And popcorn and marshmallows toasted over the fire.

We may eat in the wood, we may eat in the house, it depends on the weather! But we can just carry stuff down to the wood if thats where we are going to eat.

if you are staying overnight we will go to a pub for Sunday Lunch.

I will set up a camping area with a camping loo and a basic sink to use. I can't silence the noisy hens so am probably going to suggest you camp on the lawn rather than near the hens in the wood clearing...!

Really looking forward to finally meeting some of you this weekend! All three of the C family should be in attendance and I'm sure LMC's looking forward to it. Very Happy

One small request from me though - if you are coming and bringing cake, please can you let me know if you put any peanuts in it. Mr C has a deadly allergy to them and I'd rather we didn't try to kill him this weekend. I kind of like having someone to help around the house! Wink

I'd better go and find our waterproofs just in case. I generally find that if I take them with me somewhere the weather stays fine, if not then it's bound to rain!

Good thinking there Mrs C!

I would rather we didn't kill Mr C as well [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] , I hate to think what that would do to my insurance premium [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Seriously, could we therefore make sure all ingredients are listed for any shared food? and avoid peanuts/products please? I think that is the easiest way to manage this.

Could I also ask people who are coming to let me know, if they might be bringing a contribution to afternoon tea orfood in the evening? That way I can try to co ordinate the menu, and maybe fill in any gaps...

OK what time are you planning on being here and for how long?

(ie afternoon, evening or both on Sat)

also who is camping Sat night please?

you can pm me if you prefer!

I would like to have an Sat afternoon session from after lunch ( about 2 ish) until after tea time, and then carry on from there into the evening, if that helps at all.

We'll be afternoon too - probably 2-ish - until when ever you throw us out on Sunday (ideally so we get back before the heavy evening return to the South East that loads of people do)

I'll aim to bring cake type stuff - probably Matilda cake and if I have time some chocolate brownies too.

Oh, no, you turn up, if you can...on the Sat.

If you have not arrived by Sat night, we know you couldn't come.

I will pm you my phone number again, as well as the map, so perhaps you could call if you are not on the way?
