map of the world and location on it
I just had a peek at the fancy map in the "Who is online" section.
Nice wee toy.
HOwever, not accurate, I am not in Glasgae.
Is there a chance to adjust things? I could not find anything in my profile.
It's not really majorly important, was just a thought...

Re: map of the world and location on it
Ah, it actually locates you based on where the server giving out your IP address is located
It places me in New Brunswick, the next Province over..

Re: map of the world and location on it
Oh that's alright then,
my server apparently is situated in a white unmarked van outside a house in Boyd Street in Glasgow.
Fancy that...

Re: map of the world and location on it
its a nice gimmick, but to be honest if it were accurate to the street, I would disable it.
Re: map of the world and location on it

Re: map of the world and location on it
Done! Dusted!
Just need to tidy it up tomorrow I think, and file it on the VLE server...
Phew! Managed to get my work done before the deadline!
Just have another different load of course work to write before monday now...this one is a Playwork course and I need to finish off the reflective practice diary, to get the certificate....
Why do I sign up to do these things?

Re: map of the world and location on it
Don;t know why you sign up CW - but it actually all sounds jolly interesting. Maybe studying is something I should consider between ending my job and mini-C. Hadn't thought of that - off to research...

Re: map of the world and location on it
Mrs C I am guessing you could well train others in your field of expertise?
If so, you might want to consider signing up to do the PTLLS course, its the minimum needed to teach in the adult sector ( post 16)..and you won't be able to without it ( officially) to be employed by a FE college or be paid by a public body.
You can teach them on things you are good at as well but maybe not qualified in, like knitting....? or crochet? or crafts? Someone on here teaches quilting I think?
I love learning and am always keen to expand my skills and knowledge, but it was more about "why do I sign up to do so much stuff in so short a time" I guess?
But in my work, the summer and autumn are busy ( as well as trying to keep everything going in the garden and veg patch etc..) so the period between Oct and March is prime study time for me!
Lesson learned this week, do not leave assignments until week 2 when you could have done them in week one........

I actually had a school trip to Skipton all they way from the "Island" many years ago I wonder if I saw your tree...
A tree in Skipton must be better than a bridge in London, I'll see if I can get back tomorrow.
