I actually had a school trip to Skipton all they way from the "Island" many years ago I wonder if I saw your tree...
A tree in Skipton must be better than a bridge in London, I'll see if I can get back tomorrow.
It's a date!

Re: map of the world and location on it
CW - thanks for the tips - will definitely consider just as I have enough energy to do so!
Re Skipton (school trip once, quite dull compared to the trip we'd done the previous week to Saltaire's Mill which was really interesting) IIRC that's the generic place to "put people" if they can't resolve your IP address to anything more generic than England. Not sure why they put it near Skipton, but I found that I had lots of blog visitors from there and was very puzzled until I worked out why!

Well I'm blowed, sorry CW looks as if you are on your own again, I didn't mean to stand you up but it was low tide when I jumped in & tried to swim up there, so I'm actually stuck under the bridge again...

But according to the map Leanne is sat in the gate house on the approach road to Sparhawk towers...

Maybe it has some judgemental programming built in & it simply puts you where it believes you ought to be?

Oh look, COTW's location has moved to Coventry.
Re: map of the world and location on it
Tonight, dear reader,
I seem to broadcast to you from a bench in Princes Street Gardens, near the railway, in Edinburgh.
It's cold, wet, and dark here...

Oh look, COTW's location has moved to Coventry.
I suppose it could be, assuming I were on the map at all.

Ta-daa! Take a bough, CW. I think you have got to the root of the problem.
Re: map of the world and location on it
Love it - even more so because I (stupidly?) didn't see it coming - either of them!
Maybe pregnancy means my sense of humour's just regressing - Mr C will be pleased. I might laugh at the jokes he's been telling me for the last 7 years!

Tonight we are mostly coming from the house of commons, whilst I am in no way ashamed to be common, I'm getting a bit perturbed with city life I am really a country boy at heart...

Re: map of the world and location on it
Ouh I'm so happy!!! Since yesterday I have been puzzling over the location of this world map everyone is talking about....now I have finally found it, and I seem to be roughly in the right place! (although, 45k from the Med, so not on the coast).
Unfortunately, I am the only one online ha ha ha.
One of these days, I will really learn to use a computer.
