Ha ha if it is like my DD's bedroom you will never find them...Shocked

But glad to read she appreciates fine things... Cool whistle2

I am sure, if asked nicely, that the donor would send more..... if they have really gone AWOL....

I would love to know if someone could possibly make a 'bee' like the ladybird I received
I would obviously pay, my dad was a beekeeper for years and would love it

I concur, and I think the gifts on here are really lovely. All of them are wonderful and show a real thoughtfulness for the person to whom they are being sent

Cg appropriated the Snowmen I recieved and tok them in her room as part of her Xmas corner and was really impressed with them and has started knitting one, so if who ever made them would post up a pattern ( or pm me) she would be very greatful!

I'm impressed too, don't forget the photos! :bigclap:

Also I think we should gang up on Badger and make him add his name next year, he can even pick who he wants a gift from.....or else we will all have to send him a gift and really embarrass him! bigthink

Perhaps we may wish to have a "regional" list next year. Not necessarily public viewing material, but something the admin of the list could manage. I'd have loved to give (or recieve) something, but for fear of what it would cost to post something to France from US.

Thats a good idea

I shall be starting the Secret Santa at the beginning of November this year in order to give folk chance to register and make stuff.

Considering the US, Canadian and UK postal systems seem to be fracked this year, I think that planning well ahead is in order, even though it chafes against the very core of my being to consider "The Season" before mid December...

I must admit, I think a bit more time to make might be useful as there is such a lot to do at that time of year.

I know what Badger means regarding planning for Xmas before December but I think when you are making things it's a bit different and that needs a bit more planning. All the rest of the commercial stuff can wait

Mmm a bit like Kirstys Home Made Xmas programmes telling people how to make soap as presents but not allowing long enough for it to cure, or making chutney but not long enough in advance for it to mature...

One of the many reasons I can't stand her programmes...!

Actually, that is a very good point CW

2011 HML SS registration will open on the 1st October 2011, that way everyone who crafts things that need to cure, mature etc can participate and prepare...

Sucks to start so early, but best to be prepared...

Good idea Badger, I reccomend my chutney sits in the dark for at least 8 weeks after bottling and longer is better.

But really no one is going to make chutney just because they are making one present for a forum user, especially in December. Homelifers will be making chutney when the ingredients are in season and its chutney making time! A pot of good chutney will just be taken off the self.

Not everyone makes Chutney as a routine Zoe, in fact I think you will find a lot of people don't.

Also maybe someone would like to use the SS to start doing so and so would need time for it to mature.

Also some people might make their SS gift especially for the person concerned (I know I did!) ...so more notice would make it easier to have a range of ideas available to make as a possible gift...
