Re: Crocheted throw, finished at last
My wife has been in crochet mode for weeks now already. Only a couple of smaller projects done yet though.
Had to laugh at the hand lotion comment. Dry patch causing too many snags? I know acrylic yarn is awefull for that, but it's cheap too. I'd LOVE to get real wool yarn on a regular basis. Even make it. If I kept a sheep or two I wouldn't have to mow as much either! Blasted City Zoning!

Its funny, I would never have ever thought that getting yarn made from wool would be so difficult in North America.
I have one supplier in New Brunswick and they are awesome, the colours available are stunning it does half the work for you when you can choose beautiful colourways..

Re: Crocheted throw, finished at last
I can find it, but it's expensive. I'll pay $3 a skein of acrylic or $10 for wool. Even cotton gets pricey. COTTON!! We grow it by the carrier load in the US! But then, it seems that Wal-Mart and even the chain store craft shops have gone away from "Make It Yourself" to "Consume and Entertain". Ugh. Some (many) shops have done away with fabric sections in favor of larger electronics and event planning, fake flowers, plastic champagne flutes, etc. Sad sad sad. All the more reason for me to want to be self reliant.
