Thank you to the Badgers! Well done....

Lead and I shall follow (if I can....I have only just realised that I hadn't been logged in for days now, no wonder I couldn't see any new posts - I thought that the ship wasbeing deserted and am very pleased to see it was just my own oversight and incompetence!
So when the move takes place, please keep an eye out for strays....

This may be a silly question, but... does the website get support from Amazon for anything purchased through the bookshop "search" or just the books listed therein?

It gets support though anything bought, providing that it is found though using the Amazon search box on the site.

Mrs C, its all one now, though you should now bookmark the forum from the website and not forumotion link.

A snag...?

Your Amazon bookshop is Amazon.com....not the UK version but the US etc version...I cannot see a way to get into the UK shop via your link?

so if I buy thorugh here, it looks like I have to get it from the US..

I have had to set up 3 Amazon Associate accounts, .com, .co.uk and .ca

So I am currently writing pages that show recommended books available in UK, Canada and US Amazon stores - its a loooooooong job.

Int he meantime, if you wish to support the site by purchasing through the associates link, you can do a search [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I have added Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com search boxes. Purchases made through them earn the site a small (very small) commission.

Badger, I have just found out that at the very bottom of the Amazon.com page this forum sends you to, is a link to the uk site...so at least if we want to buy from Amazon over here in the UK, we could still get you some small commision?

Would it be any better financially to go in through your main Ca site and then follow the link to the UK site? or is it all the same small commission?

i think I am being dim, I re-logged in at 'home made life.com', rather than the old handmade life, but when I try to bookmark the new addy, the bookmark still says handmade life. and yet it brings me here, to the correct address, whst am i doing wrong? is it something to do with pesky cookies again? Embarassed Very Happy

A "wrinkle"?

Check the cursor blink (rate?)

I think the interval too long compared to duration. Makes the "where you are" cursor difficult to find as it appears to vanish (your eye blink rate might have obscured its next appearance). While the blink rate shouldn't be too fast it needs a relationship to how long in the cycle the cursor is visable. If short duration like this the rate should be a few times faster than the normal human eye blink rate.

Another question... do you get paid per the amount of purchase or simply a set rate for each use of the bookshop search that ends in a purchase? I buy so much through Amazon, particularly things used in the care of my mother, I'd just love it if the forum got some benefit from that. I won't put myself out for a few pennies if it costs me extra shipping, but I do everything I can to only check out when I have enough to qualify for free shipping. if I can finagle more cash for the forum by checking out twice, where's the harm?
