Keep looking in charity shops because some sell soft furnishing fabrics and even dress-making fabrics, as well as knitting wool. I recently bought various fabrics including a very pretty flowery curtain which will make super cushion covers, five metres of pretty curtain fabric exactly the colours of our dining room (shortly to become dining chair covers and cushions to match), net curtaining (for the lacy edging and to make "muslin" bags. I also included a length of some flowery crimplene-type fabric (remember crimplene?) which will be great for knocking-about-the-house trousers and gardening shorts.

I have a week off work next week - I think I know what I'll be doing!
