Re: Charity Shop Bargains...
Yeay! My favourite charity shop has done it again. This time, a pair of lined curtains, each 8' wide by 8'9" drop. Again just the colours I want for the living room, and I just need to shorten them a little, which will give me enough fabric to make tiebacks.

Oh! I forgot to say, the curtains cost me a tenner.

Wow FB, you are lucky in your charity shop. They're not much cop round here & I suspect that anything half decent never makes it into the shop - I took loads of good stuff in when we moved out of the house for building works & never saw any of it actually in the shop. The only one we've got is a cat sanctuary shop & I did feel a bit peeved when I took in a bag of 6 carefully laundered cushion pads & they were grabbed out of my hand by a woman who said 'oh good, we've got a cat at the sanctuary with a broken leg!' I couldn't see why it needed 6 cushions but I didn't need them so I suppose it didn't really matter to me.

Re: Charity Shop Bargains...
Just been to collect an armchair from that incredibly useful charity shop. Our old one hadn't cost us a penny, but had started to deteriorate to the point of being uncomfortable. So into the trailer it went, and down to the tip, and we collected the new (to us) one on the way back. It's not at all the colour I want, but that wonderful bargain 8m of fabric I bought from the same shop in July will come into its own now. I will use it to make a loose cover for the new chair.

Re: Charity Shop Bargains...
Back with another bargain from the same charity shop. 8.75 metres of fabric, 128cm wide, brand new, still on the roll. The 8m I bought last July I decided was maybe a bit slippery to cover the chair. This latest fabric is just the right green, cotton twill, so won't be at all slippy. There was no price on it - how much? I asked the shop assistant. Oh, er, will £4 be alright.
Wey hey, less than 50p a metre.
