Hello from Mid Wales
Hi all, I've just signed up as a new member. I have a small farm in Mid Wales with sheep, cattle, pigs, chickens and bees. I love growing stuff, though the location is somewhat challenging, & try to be as self sufficient in food as possible. I also dabble in some chicken & bee related woodwork & when it gets too cold to be outside I like to bake, knit, sew & quilt (very much a quilting novice). I'm currently enjoying our first proper summer since 2006.

hello Ploshkin - thank you for taking time to introduce yourself. You're probably not that far from me - I'm in the Welsh Marches. Looking forward to hearing more about your life in Wales

Hello !
Growing anywhere has been a bit challenging the last year or two, let alone in Wales !
I'd love to hear about / see some bee related woodwork. My DW's family has a few beekeepers, I'd like to, but have nowhere suitable to keep them. Well, except that some have set up shop in my hedgehog hibernation box of their own accord ...

And hello and welcome from me too. You'll have to get together with GB (usually found in the tearoom) and have some bee-related conversations.

I think 'bee related woodwork' must sound more interesting than it is Chilli Head. I don't make fancy hives or anything like that, just bits & pieces that cost a lot of money to buy & that you can never have enough of like crown boards, clearer boards, dummy boards & temporary floors. How lovely to have bees in your hedgehog box - presumably bumbles. Thank you Freebird, I'll have to check out the tearoom, I didn't realise there was a place on here for bee bores!

If you looked much at the site before you joined, you wouldn't have been able to see the tearoom - it's only available to members. We have a new one every month. If you look down the left side of the screen under 'Latest Topics', it's bound to be there, near the top somewhere.
