Facebook page
I think my next job will be to try an create a FB page. We used to have one, but it has long gone.
I'd like to keep it simple to start - not much more than few pictures to capture the interests of current members, a few words to go with them, and a link to here to serve as a signpost.
So - A rummage around and I have found some candidates:
Dandelions's chickens:

Ploshkin's sheep:

There are some piglets too if I can find them.
Quite a few pretty garden shots, but not so many of the edible garden. I can probably find the odd photo of some woodworking I think.
Any more or better offers ? I cute is good !

Re: Facebook page
I've just gathered some photos on here. Lacking in words as yet...

Initially I thought to make a group, but having decided to stick with the forum, I thought it was better to just make a page, try and preload it with some pictures to make it photogenic, and then copy occasional interesting or pretty posts from the foum onto there as a taster.
I have to confess I have little idea how to drive Facebook, so any comments from the more experienced users would be useful. Nudges Dandelion ...

Re: Facebook page
I must admit that I'm learning as I go. I run the FB page for our local food bank - it's run more to inform users of the food bank and donors about particular needs (such as a shortage of a particular item) and any events which are running, but I also try to include recipes and any relevant news items. As it's a local organisation I think most of our 'likes' come from people who use or who support the food bank, but I'm pretty chuffed today to see a 'like' from BBC Hereford and Worcester!
I think the way to get started is just to set the page up, and get it going - FB does post helpful comments as you get going, about boosting your audience and adding embellishments.

Re: Facebook page
That's a kind offer BJM. What I need at the moment is for more people to see it ... I see we have a little group of "likes" from Australia - thanks for the like of my (or should that be DW's) bangle too !
If any of our other members are on Facebook and want to help promote HML by liking or inviting friends to like the HML page, that would be much appreciated

Re: Facebook page
Well I can definitely help with that, I am a member of many gardening and "homemade" type groups on FB, and one of my friends has a Youtube channel on vermicomposting and fish farming (can't remember what that's called) and has quite a good following. Will see what I can do.

Re: Facebook page
Well something looks to have worked - over a hundred likes today. Let's hope a few of them might have a look at the forum too.

Re: Facebook page
I've put a little "Like box" down there on the left hand column, you can go to Facebook for a look at the page, or like it directly from there if you want.
