I guess everyone kmows this already - I'm usually late to the party - but there are some gems to be had amongst the used books on Amazon.  Particularly good if you have interests slightly off the mainstream (who, me ?)  Some are just a penny plus p&p.

My 82p slightly tatty copy of John Seymour's The self sufficient gardener arrived today, and a quick thumb through it already gave me a new idea about training my grape vines across the wall at the bottom of the garden.   I find myself very much in sympathy with Seymour's way of thinking these days.  Look forward to reading it once Christmas is done.

82p? Bargain! Funnily enough I treated myself to a second hand book from Amazon earlier today, about knitting on circular needles. At £2.50 it was a little more expensive, but what a brilliant resource!

A couple of years ago I had a mass disposal to charity shops of books. Needless to say, not long after, there was one title that I wanted to give to my niece. It had been published in the early 70s & was long out of print but I got a copy from Amazon, in nearly new condition, for 1p + £1.50 postage.
