Re: Crafting Today.
I made some boxes today out of wallpaper book samples which I got from the Scrapstore. Really expensive wallpaper ( £200 per roll! ) and they made lovely folded boxes, the sort where one is slightly smaller than the other and slips over the top as the lid...
am very pleased with them.

Re: Crafting Today.
Child and I had another painting session with my gouache paints. He's getting rather good! In the interim, new yarn arrived and I made sprog another arm-warmer, then ran them both on a thick piece of yarn in his coat which hopefully he can't lose! More armwarmers for me as well in very lovely merino wool and then I'll move on to a scarf for sproggo.

Any particular one you like better? I did the butterflies from a template, free hand but based on a template in a glass book but the others were sort of generally out of my head.
probably derived from something I have seen though!

Re: Crafting Today.
that is my fav as well. Took me ages to draw the shape on paper, so I could put it inside and then use the outliner paint...glass is a right so and so to paint on!
Cm liked my colourful take on a Green man best. I am in the middle of designing a "traditional Green man to transfer to a larger candle jar at the mo.
Am finding all this crafting very soothing and helpful to de stress.

I love the 3 hares symbol, in fact I got a might obsessed with it when I was a youngling and had pictures and books from all over europe
Re: Crafting Today.
I am working on a small one, with three rather than just one of the hares I did today...leaping for joy.

Re: Crafting Today.
Finished a study - a friend of mine liked it very much (though I still think it was just an exercise in fine brush-strokes) so I think this will be her Xmess present once I get a frame for it and sign it.
The work has potential, I might want to do a painting on this these when I perfect a few techniques. I love viridian!

Re: Crafting Today.
Not quite what I have done today, but what I WILL be doing very soon.
Went into WH Smiths today & saw a magazine which was huge. Looked at it & it was a mag + the kit to make a lot of cards, not just a few, but a LOT. OH thinks I have more that enough bits but this was different. He went a bit blue when I told him it was £8, but the bits & pieces would have cost a lot more than that & the mag gives instructions for making all the cards. They are gorgeous.
For anyone who finds it difficult to do such things but wants to give it a go, this wpould be ideal.
Mag is called Lets Make...CARDS

Re: Crafting Today.
Have started on the card kit. It is really fab. Instructions are easy to follow, so I have learnt how to do several new things that I have never tried before.
I would so recomend this to anyone who wants to give it a go but is scared of ending up looking like a kids effort.

I quite often get his mag - it is really useful for card making workshops! And I have made some lovely cards and gift tags from items in them. it also makes a very good gift for a crafty minded friend....

Re: Crafting Today.
The ideas are sooooooooo good, I learnt such a lot that I will use when the pack is finished, though I think that will take some time. It has to be the best card mag I have ever bought.
