...but you can call me Ginny.

I'm 47, happily divorced woman with cats. Oh, and I care for my elderly mother. Yes, I'm a walking, talking stereotype and proud to be so.

Whilst I appreciate some of the niceties of modern life, I find that what I yearn for is simply simplicity. Growing my own veg. Harvesting my own seeds. Living within my means. Good home cooked meals. A fuzzy face in mine.

I sing, mostly music from before my time. Nat "King" Cole. Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday. Some current things as well... with a rather disturbing penchant for Christmas Carols.

I'm always learning to do something, get sidetracked and then find myself having to learn it all over again. Most recently it's been knitting, but I really haven't gotten very far. The list of things I've learned to do, but don't do is monstrous.

My green level is probably light, striving toward medium. I am most interested in educating by example. Creating interest by being interested. In self-sufficiency through community. In survival, but not at the cost of 'life."

As I near the end of this personal decade, I find myself embracing my existence as a puttering, old, fool that doesn't take the world too seriously. I suppose that I simply want to live as happily, consciously, and conscientiously as possible.

I do like this Hello, I'm vwalker99999 Icon_smile and very much agree. I also love the happily divorced with cats - nothing like a set of long white (in my case) whiskers in the face to set you up of a morning. Looking fwd to knowing more.
