Not that I am the least bit bothered either way; as you know, I'll happily post anything anywhere, but we do seem to have a lot of sections with very little in them.

In the alternative, do we have any thoughts on how best to fill some of them up a bit more?

Maybe part of the problem is that we've mostly come from another forum where we'd already done a discussion about whatever, so we don't feel a need to do it again here.

easy answer to the latter problem, HL: spill forth some of your accumulated wisdom onto the blank canvases.

Perhaps the number of subfora is a reflection of the diverse interests of everyone that has joined either sharing their knowledge or wanting to learn more, baring in mind that people have joined and are joining from a number of different "other forums".

I think there is a totally different slant to the "other forum" that you were talking about, which is what Badger wanted, there was no point in creating a duplicate.

I also think there is more of a small community feel over here, almost like a virtual village, were we have just about everything that a village has...

Oh, my [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is working, I can see the obvious comment is on its way... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Yeah, but you know me: I'm shy and I don't like to put myself forward like that.
Not without suitable prompting anyway.

My suggestion was that we merge some of the mostly empty ones...

And I'm good at being silly.
Do what you are good at. That's (one of) my motto(s).

I just done a biggie. Am washed out now.

And your proposal is too general: "tell me what you know".
Sorry, I ain't got time to type it.
Hit me with a problem and I'll batter it with answers, but you can't expect me to just give random answers.

Sorry to not be part of the cozy patter but Hairy I was going to ask if you could start a thread on PV panels..if you've got the knowledge. I have a friend that is involved with making them (in a foriegn country). He is saying the price of a watt has reduced 10 fold because the Chinese are making them silicon based and not using the USA design which is dependent on iridium. I'm interested if the technology is becoming greener and cheaper.....

Rumours that I am the source of all knowledge have been widely exaggerated.
I know very little about PV, although at this point I am seriously considering going into installation... I have more than a few steps to go yet.

That is good, can you look into the price of importing some?

Probably means they are not as efficient, but does that matter when the energy you're wasting is free on all counts?
