Learned a new one today: for suspending new born lambs so that they can be weighed on a spring balance

Re: How Many Different Uses Can We Find For... Bicycle innertubes...
Three rather inspired uses I have come up with,
1. Slide a bit over the top of the water inlet for a hand pumed cistern, makes a very simple, crude non-return valve.
2. Cut up & stapled with a very heavy staple gun, it can be used very effectively to repair/refurbish a tuba carying case...
3. Cut a small length & use it as a sheath to cover the mouthpiece & reed of a saxaphone, if they cant get the air in, the noise wont come out...
Not tried this one... Yet...

Spar, regarding part three, is this a storage item, or a permenant fixture? Unless you're talking about sitting it on a stand for a few minutes while you getting a cuppa, etc. while practicing, why would the mouthpiece be stored IN the saxophone when not in use?
OR are you talking about someone taking just the mouthpiece from the case and practicing their "Duck Calling"? Then again, why is the reed in the mouthpiece in storage?
Percussionist myself (to which I've discussed at length with Billy once or twice, LOL), but lived with, and practiced with a number of woodwinds before too.
OK, ok, a little OT.
Back on topic: Thinking of trying of turning one into a drip watering ring for a shrub, small tree. Take a 2l water bottle, cut off the bottom, cut the inner tube at one place. Bung up spigot end of water bottle into inner tube, nylon tie snug. Puncture inner tube periodically, staple distant end snugly. Affix a coat hangar (previous month, lol) with the water bottle as a post into the soil, probably turned about the spigot neck and gently wound as a support. Place bottle open end up, wrap hose about base of plant. Fill bottle with water and let it percolate.

You try to catch them when they have put it together, & put it in the stand before they start playing...
Oh & if it could be a permanent fixture...

I actually cut a piece & took it to band tonight, offered it up against one & yes I'm sure it would work...
I didn't half get some strange looks from the sax players though...
