Had a wee go at Blacksmithing over the summer.
Made a poker. It is not particularly good, but it pokes.

Not a lot wrong with that from where I'm looking ..definitely a good start.

I've been thinking about improvised forging, to make some tools where the steel will be too large to get to red heat with a blowlamp. I saw one set up involving a biscuit tin with some holes in the bottom, sitting on some bricks with a vacuum cleaner on blow poked underneath. My kind of thing - no need to buy any of the parts. Except the biscuit tin, which must be emptied first, and needs fairly frequent renewal Laughing
