So, here is what became of the Hugel:
The area to the right is where the Hugel was, and in now potatoes with lots of homemade compost - the compost heaps are just off to the right, so not far to move stuff. The spare soil from the Hugel is in the mini raised bed made from packing crates - with some spent compost from the greenhouse and 5 volunteer oregano plants collected from around the plot. Carrots will go in there too when conditions improve.
The weekend agenda is to get the greenhouse up and running with the big propagator so I can start leeks (I'm late with those) onions, celeriac, and salad leaves. Oh, and there is a small matter of the pile of logs on the patio to shift.

Don't let anyone know you've got logs, CH - more valuable than gold with the price of fuel!!
