Portable Lumber Horse
Hi,
I'm just about to make my second Lumber Horse. Is there a way to easily remove the rear legs so that the Horse will 'flatpack' and fit in the boot of my car ?

Re: Champion the Lumber Horse
Hello Phil, and welcome. It is sadly quiet in here these days ...
I think it looks possible to put a couple of bolts through the "rear spacer" in the diagram, and attach the back legs to that ? The issue to me is what to attach the seat to ?
I have to say, I'm not that fond of Mike Abbot's design. We had them at the Greenwood group I used to go to (Cambridgeshire APTGW local group). A bit rickety, perhaps it as the build quality. But for portability, a flat slab with 3 tapered holes to take 3 legs seems much the easier solution, and is the way I went. The problem of getting a big plank for the seat can also be solved with shop bought / skip dived constructional timber - 3 boards of 2x3" or 2x4" laminated together.
