It's happening - the new vegetarian cafe, bookshop and art gallery, The Garden in the City opens on Thursday 9th December at 10am.

It's at ...

The Garden in the City
65 Whitecross Road
Hereford
HR4 0DQ

Book Exchange

As well as enjoying superb, home-cooked vegetarian food, cakes, coffe, tea and herb teas, you can exchange books - and sit and read them there in the cafe, or buy one by a local author ... try before you buy. The cafe is also a small art gallery for local artists, you can buy the pitcures and there will be cards as well .

Workshops

Then there are the workshops ... Wye's Women is about the spirt and nature of the river Wye, one of the mother-rivers of Britain, so the workshops will be about ways of getting in touch with this for yourself. They include making spirit dolls, en-chanting or singing up the goddess, numerology, mask-making, ley lines ... did you know their discoverer, Alfred Watkins, was a Hereford man?

And ... we're going to do experimental workshops in art, water colours, acrylic, chinese style painting, drawing, jewellry, craft-work.

Although we're called Wye's Women the workshops and activities are not restricted to women, men are very welcome too :-)

Come along on the 9th December, have a coffee. snack, cake, meal. Bring a book to exchange, or buy one by a local author, enjoy the art, get that special card you need ... and chat with us.

We're looking forward to meeting you ...

Are you available to hire as a venue for other craft workshops?

I want to run some paper making and paper crafting w/s in Hereford over the winter months, also soap making, lotions and potions and candles and seasonal wreaths and decorations.

it ssounds a terrific venue and I have written the launch date in my diary

UPDATE - I've just been asked to run a biodynamic gardening course in 2011. It will likely be 1 Sat or Sun a month from the spring over the summer, at our place, bring a shared lunch. Twil be very practical putting the theory to work.

Jennie also want sto have a monthly biodynamic gardening discussion group at the cafe, where people can ask questions, chew the cud and be sociable.

If you're interested pse email us at wyeswomen@gmail.com and we'll keep you posted.

Also keep looking at
Wye's Women for the latest news on what we're up to.
