A true craftsman

Found this family firm whilst looking for a curved adze. This guy makes the most beautifully finished tools for blacksmiths/masons/farriers etc., I think I've ever seen. A site really worth browsing, even if only to admire! Smile

Very interesting!

Have always wanted a small forge...did a bit of smithing and metal bashing at Uni, and would love to do a bit more.

I rather liked his blacksmith's 'kits', and the prices seem entirely reasonable for the level or quality and craftsmanship. The Bushcraft Mag., has 'fire and forge' taster days - something that's definitely down on my to-do list!

Meantime, I'm off flint knapping with Will Lord this weekend. Cool

I wouldn't be. I fully expect to come home with a bag full of interestingly shaped but utterly useless chippings. But it'll be fun making them!

That's OK, I have spent 3 hours today turning a number of perfectly harmless Poplar logs into shavings and sawdust. Oh, and a spoon, a light pull and a rounders bat for E!

And reprofiling some powered wood lathe chisels so they work better on a pole lathe...Ian ground them to the correct angle and it has made a HUGE difference.

Have more green wood worker tools arriving, tomorrow...can't wait to have a play :-) Have spent buisiness tool budget on the order though so hope the courses I am offering get booked up fast!
