In Praise of... Dads.
Its silly and sentimental of me to miss him more today than any other, but I do. I miss my daddy today.
We hadn't spoken for three years when he died, not because we had fallen out, just that we had run out of things to say to each other and had drifted apart, that is my biggest regret, how can you just drift away from your dad?
So here it is, love your Dad, he is special and no matter how much you argue or you might think you have disappointed him, he is immensely proud of you and loves you very much.
If you can, give the old coot a kiss and hug and love him while you can and thank you Dad for helping me to become the man I am now!

Agreed. It's been nearly eleven years since Dad passed. Still times like this I miss him terribly. Best to you all!
