I must really be strange!
I just got this http://www.strombergschickens.com/product/home-picker-junior-with-motor/Poultry-Pluckers for the whoppingly low price of $125.
And having a chicken plucker is making me really, REALLY happy.
Its just sinking in that perhaps I may actually be as strange as people have been telling me I am.

that is what they are supposed to do. I am building a home made one as can't afford a real one and am sick to eyeteeth of plucking by hand.

He still says it cant work, it was just too cheap!
I have been putting off the poultry project because hand plucking our yearly allotment of chicken has been daunting me more than a bit and I couldnt afford to buy a plucker either.
And then I found this one on CL being sold at a junk shop.
It makes me feel all warm and happy inside every time I look at it

I would trade you mine if you were closer, with loosing the land that mum was renting the chicken project is, once again, a year or several down the road.
So shall now be getting rid of my wonderful plucker
Never mind eh, hopefully the sale will net me enough to finish the rabbit project, even to the walk in pens with tendable underground burrows. Swings and round a bouts is what life is all about
