Glycerol is a waste product of biodiesel production. As such there is a huge world surplus of it... and quite a sizeable one in my yard.
It isn't actually difficult to dispose of: there are plenty of places that will take it, and I am told it is harmless enough to throw down the drain, and I am also told that it is good for compost
But I can't help thinking there are better things to do with it (unless it actually is particularly good for compost)...
There are no end of things you can do with clean glycerol, but this stuff is a way off clean: it is usually filthy with soap. :?
