For me, as a long time supporter of Organic gardening methods , and of Garden Organic as a charity, the very best scheme of all for growing veg in schools is that run by Garden Organic.

The longest standing organic horticulture project for schools in
the UK, led by Garden Organic, has reached a major milestone in the
challenge to engage children in food, by helping 5000 schools set up
food growing projects.

Garden Organic is also a major partner in the Food for Life Partnership. The Food for Life Partnership website can be found at www.foodforlife.org.uk

The Food for Life Partnership is a network of schools and communities
across England committed to transforming food culture.

Led by the Soil Association, the Food for Life Partnership brings
together the practical expertise of Garden Organic, The Focus on Food
Campaign and The Health Education Trust.

The RHS scheme is also well worth a school signing up to, there is lots of free advice and free seeds on offer at the moment.
