Growth charts

I've suggested this before, but not here, and for different reasons, but can we start a graph of the forum activity?
Or at least start recording so we can look back later.
So we can see the growth rate, seasonal variations and stuff like that.

I started looking into it a while back and I decided that it is a lot easier to keep a record as you go than to pull the data out of the database afterwards.
