Hello from the Willamette Valley of Oregon......
Hello everyone, from rainy Oregon, I can't believe we are welcoming another gray day in the middle of June!! This weather has been very strange for this time of year and the garden is in a holding pattern.....
My name is Liz and I always seek ways to live my life simply aside from that one little problem of having to work full-time. I am on a journey of simplifying, asking myself of the "want vs. the need". Always looking to reduce the plastic, chemicals, toxins, mental garbage, etc in my life. Always looking for a way to do it the way it used to be done....before plastic.....and packaging and marketing....you get my drift.
I love to cook, bake, sew and garden. I love my family and the beauty of nature around me. I live in an abundant valley full of farms, fruits and vegetables, and orchards. I am close to the ocean and the mountains, nestled between both of them.
I belong to a coop of women who buy together, farm fresh, raw, organic, whatever we can get our hands on. My most recent adventure has been making fresh mexican style cheese with my farm fresh raw milk. It is delicious!
I look forward to checking out this forum when I have time and looking for or sharing ideas.
Thank you for welcoming me Badger.

Re: Hello from the Willamette Valley of Oregon......
Hi Lizbuff - I love the fact that we can live a long way away from each other on this forum but still have a lot in common. I am doing the same balancing act of trying to live simply but working full-time too (though because I work in a school I get the lovely holidays!)
Agree with you about reducing and simplifying - a packet of cheese i opened this week has an advert on for a competition which says 'Who wouldn't love to win a nippy Mini Cooper, a shop-til-you-drop New York trip,a fancy home makeover or a whopping home entertainment system?' and I thought 'actually, I don't!!!' (The only thing I really need at the moment is some more soap from Body Shop which i will get next time I go to the Big Shops!)
By the way, my OH did a whole term's art project on the Oregon Trail when he was teaching!!
Look forward to sharing ideas when you have time.
