Hello from Alan
Howdy y'all,
I recently retired from public service in Texas - pollution cleanup and aquifer protection. My wife Robin and I will enjoy a woods and meadow on a glacial moraine (kames, kettles, and outwash plain) in the thumb of Michigan, USA. Part of the farm my dad was born on. Looking to share ways of living simply with the land. I found this forum while researching how to build hurdles. We've lots of Witch Hazel (Hamamelis). I'll give it a try.

Hello!
Good that you knew the area from before as I guess the climate isn't quite the same in Texas and in Michigan!
Wishing you lots of luck and health and fun times on the farm!

I appreciate your welcomes
Any suggested readings on the psychology of place? Anyone read and appreciate "A Pattern Language"? What's this about a camera club?

Re: Hello from Alan
OOOoooooo 'eck, Alan, now you're asking, I'm not sure if it's wise to subject you to the psychology of here til you've been locked in the tea room?
I think that is a darn fine place to meet the regulars, they're terribly friendly, slightly weird, but there you go... Speaking for me, I'm all for begging, borrowing, making, acquiring, asking before buying.. I'm also a cheapskate, and proud of it..
