Re: Peach Trees
Well, I want one of the mini cherry trees that are advertised on the gardening mags, unfortunately local nurseries are not stocking them yet.

Re: Peach Trees
Local nurseries roudn here, have sold out... not because there's been a run on fruit trees, but because it's the end of the season... um... is it? I was under the impression autumn was the the time for tree planting...
Re: Peach Trees
I live in hopes for next year. They are patio trees & grow to about a metre which will suit my tiny garden & the cherries seem to grow up the centre. I could buy off the net, but that makes them really expensive, so I will wait.

Re: Peach Trees
Will you grow it against a wall Lottie? I would love to have an old walled garden with fruit trees trained against it. (Pause for Homer-type salivating sound)
I had a great aunt in North London when I was little who grew a very successful peach tree in her garden - I can remember some naughty boys knocking the fruit off as they went past on day and my aunt and uncle having to retrieve it all to finish ripening it indoors. Don't know what variety it was but it was sweet.

Re: Peach Trees
My peach tree comes out with curled leaves every spring... then after a week or few they fall off and it grows sensible leaves.
This year it grew two peaches, I was most impressed.
