Rag Knitting Empty Rag Knitting

Post by vwalker99999 6th January 2010, 7:05 pm

Well, isn't it just like me to find something new to try. Not completely new, I've done toothbrush rugs before which are similar, but i like the look of this rag knitting. How much fun would it be to knit pretty little coverlets out of sheets and clothes that have seen better days?...

I haven't done it myself, as of yet. Only found it today... but doesn't it make a lovely result?

I make rag rugs for the hall floors this way. Very successful, wash in the machine.

Very pretty

Now where would one find such large needles? Not around here local anyway, maybe on line? Any one know?

I saw one awhile back a friend of mine did with old t-shirts much the same way, I think her's was crochet though...

Lots of large needles were for sale at the last knitting and stitching show in London so I'm guessing they should be quite readily available on the Internet. A quick search should find them, but of you can't give me a shout and I'll go through the various leaflets I picked up at the last show. They may all be UK based though if I do that.
