Noob, Newbie, Noobie ...
... or New Bee ?
My name is Asiza. I'm big into researching just about everything and have a "do it yourself" attitude. I have a love affair with history, or at least with the home life from times gone by. I have 5 kids and 3 grandkids, one newly born. Other than that, not sure what else to say. Can't wait to get to know everyone.

Hello and welcome ! Good to have you on board. We are still reeling with the aftermath of the Christmas break here, but I see you've had a look around. You said in another thread that you are a jack of all trades - I tend to be a dabbler in many things too - can't resist trying new crafts.
Look forward to reading and seeing more of what you do.

Welcome from me too. Please tell us about things when you do them - even if it's something none of us have tried it's always interesting to know and you could inspire one of us to get started.

Hi Asiza!
So, interested in history and the home life from times gone by? Am wondering if that includes the Oregon Trail? My other half loves history, and as a teacher he had a big project going about the Oregon Trail, which he finds a fascinating time.

Will do Ploshkin
Dandelion, it's funny, but I have had so much of the Oregon trail shoved down my throat, that I have gotten good at tuning it out when the subject arises. Never-the-less, the information seems to have seeped in anyway. We actually live right on several converging trails. Here in the woods, 20 min up the mountain from here, is a trail that seems so harsh, I don't know why they bothered, but they did. I could get some pictures for him when we go camping.

His face lit up when I read him your post, and he says 'Yes please'! He reminded me that part of the project he used to do (with secondary school children) was to get them to dress in period costume, then they would take sepia photographs of themselves, and write illustrated journals. That was a while ago - he is now working with autistic children, but he's still very interested in history of all kinds.Asiza wrote:Will do Ploshkin

Hello and welcome from me too, Asiza. Where in Oregon are you? I had a very dear friend in Portland, and another in Ashland (think that's right but would need to check her address). Unfortunately never managed to visit.
Looking forward to hearing more about the things that interest you.
