... is growing a caper bush from seed. This is a tricky business involving vernalisation. The recommended procedure is to soak the seeds, refrigerate for a couple of months, soak again, then sow.

I set mine soaking today. Lets see how it goes.

I've never had any luck with any seeds that need time in the fridge. Will be interested to see how you get on.

Something has emerged. Just the one, and I'm going to have to wait for it to show true leaves to be sure that I have a caper, not a weed !

Well, I have just the one caper bush, about 3" tall at the moment. Wondering how best to look after it over winter ...
