Tidying up in the Polytunnel Empty Tidying up in the Polytunnel

I am late to do this, this year...but it needs to be done!

So, today I will be in the Polytunnel, emptying out pots of growing medium, spreading them on the veg patch. I had no blight in the PT so am happy to do this, otherwise I would add it back into the compost heaps to be processed.

I will be brushing all the pots clean with a bristle brish and then will wash them all out with soapy water and lavender essential oil.

My pots are actually builders buckets with holes in, btw!

I shall sweep and clean and tidy away all the bits of rubbish and plant matter on the floor, did most of this at the end of the summer but there is still a bit needs doing.

AND I will pot up the strawberry runners which infest the floor area and they will be this years early plants....Tidying up in the Polytunnel Dscf4210

Phew! Just come in for a tea break!

Have done half of it and have now got the Guinea Pig run installed and Fudge in side it, so the poor little fellow can have a bit of a run around!

Have also cleaned out hens and done a load of composting....

Which reminds me I must get some repair tape sent to my SiL so she can bring it over with her on her next visit - I have one bit of damage I need to get fixed before it gets any worse.

No, the headless chicken was behind the camera....trying to get 10 things done in the space of half an hour, as usual!

Still, made quite a dent in the untidyness level, should get it finished tomorrow and found several sprout tops and some fresh kale which I had forgotten was ready, so picked that...also have LOADS of strawberry runners to pot up, so will be selling some at the gate later in the year I think...

I get a surprising amount of passing trade in the fine weather from people out for a sunday afternnon drive in our picturesque area....

Done - so I can tick that off my to do list. I still need a major PT tidy up but as the garden is diggable at the moment I'm outside and will save the PT for a rainy day.

Mine is under at least a foot of snow and ice and will be for another 2 months Tidying up in the Polytunnel Icon_sad

I have to say I was surprised after the rain and then snow we've had. I do not envy you your cold winters at all.
