Caught this on BBC Breakfast this morning, and thought I'd share it with you.

The Co-op has apparently been running a pilot scheme in Madchester (Is that what you signed up for JellyB ?), and has now expanded it into Lunnon and Scotchland.

The package consists of free training in Beekeeping, some bees and a starter hive.

Seems like a Good Plan to me !

Ohh wish I'd know about that last year
Nope, it's not what I'm signed up for, but as usual it's all based in South Manchester (the posh side!!!)

Not sure if we are allowed bees on the allotments - will have to check that one out.

Doesn't mention insurance anywhere on the website. Probably not good to have urban bees without insurance.

If it's expanding then it might make it's way towards you

At least you've got garden space for a small hive.

The Co-op have also been giving away packets of 'bee friendly' wild flower seeds.
