To appear in this section under Welcome and Suggestions. A place for people to ask "how to" questions related not about living more sustanaibly but about the forum itself. We already had one such question (about adding an avatar).

My question -- since the rules referred to what could or could not be in a signature presumably we can have signatures. But how? I saw nothing in the usual place (where we can edit our profiles).

yes, it is a little tricky to discover

if you look at the horizontal list above and click on profile, there is a list of tabs:
Information | Preferences | Signature | Avatar | Friends and foes | Topic being watched

you can set a signature and avatar, add more info etc

I am working on making the control bar more noticeable today...

Not noticeable enough. After seeing again the answer to the "avatar" question gave me the idea to so what else might be on that line and so I found it (and the separate "properties" list to activate it).

We'll now see if it works

Gosh a bit too technical for me.
There are loads of free forum suppliers out there so once you have evrything set up you could easily switch I guess???
