Crochet Chat / flowers and Patterns - Page 2 Empty Granny Squares

Post by MrsC 4th July 2011, 7:28 pm

Thought some of you might be interested in my current crochet project

Crochet Chat / flowers and Patterns - Page 2 Square10

Lots of Granny Squares that I am hoping will become a lovely big blanket in time for winter. All the yarn came from the closing down sale at the local knitting shop a few weeks back. As ever, more details on my blog...

Coo, my mum made me a blanket out of squares just like that. She used to knit for a wool shop, and used all the part balls of wool left over. Must have lasted me 20 years ! Great stuff MrsC.

I am doing a blanket, but the squares are sort of 12ins square, will take a couple of more years, but it is crawling along.

We saw a fab woolshop ( and allsorts!) in Ludlow, today ( like a 1950's shop!)

Cm tried to stop me going in by tempting me with beer...I only went in very briefly

But it was lovely in there...and there were loads of squares waiting to be made up on the counter...

O.o Wish I was as clever as that!! I can't crochet and don't have the patience for it, but that is lovely. Thank you for sharing.

It really depends on how tired I am in the evening, the main body I can do in a couple of evenings, the wings and legs I can knock out in an evening as well.

I'm still busy making my massive granny square crochet blanket for when the cold weather hits (no rush right now - I'm in a summer dress here!) but getting a bit bored, so fancied doing something a bit new for a while. I've got loads of small amounts of bright coloured yarn so was thinking crochet flowers. Does anyone have a good (simple) pattern for them? My crochet pattern reading skills aren't great, but willing to have a go.
