Oooh I fancy fish n chips. Damn. Now you've got my mouth watering for it.

Cauliflower cheese, baked beans and sausage is on the menu however.

Bloggeration! Now I will be dissatisfied throughout as my mouth craves salt and vinegar and fat.

Jelly!! dribble Can I join you?!! All sound DELISH! But I'm super partial to a good tapa and it's our current topic in Spanish class too!

Tonight is Pizza night, shop bought as we've been too busy this week and are both suffering from CBA ( Can't be A**ed!) oh and garlic dough balls too. Washed down with lots of wine - white for me, Red for hubs.

Tomorrow is chicken curry with the leftovers form last night's roast and Sunday will be Spanish meatballs.

Aha, Spanish meatballs - Albondingas

It's nearly all done now, just having a nice chilled Spanish sherry, got the Cava and Rioja blanca in the fridge. Just need to cook the chicken, bung everything else in the oven to heat through and will cook the gambas pil pil (prawns with garlic & chilli) y calamari at the last minute

Hola
Had a fab night
Apart from some slices of bread and some aubergine bake, there was nothing left
So today's menu is left over aubergine bake and bread & butter pudding made from left over bread. (Forgot to put it away so it went a bit stale hence B&B pudding)

Rainbow trout with a light fennel seed crust. And chips.

Quark and bottled cherries form the front garden for pudding.

Too busy to cook anything elaborate and have been running fridge down for going away.

Had boiled ham, peas, parsley sauce, gratinee potatos and lots of carrots ( as they were the last from the garden and were a bit slug damaged...)

Yum....

I made a stove-top stew tonight with mince, tinned tomatoes, various veg and I have just burned my tongue eating it. My menfolk won't touch it as it has onion in (not to mention the veg . . . sigh). I bought some sausages yesterday, with herbs in, and DH declared he wouldn't eat them as "he doesn't like herbs". For Heavens' sake . . . anything green and his Manchester genes riot!

Pot-roast chicken with every veg I could find cooked in duck stock with chunks of smoked bacon. Have just come in from outdoors and the aroma of it wafting through the house is heavenly - warming me up already.

Chilli Con Thingy here, made with minced mutton and the leftover gravy from Sunday's Beefs, and my home 'pickled' chillies in oil - so I might DIE !

This evening I shall be watching the Hairy Berks in their new series re-creating recipes Just Like Mother Used To Make.
I've got concerns - my mother was a rotten cook - although it took a while to realise just how bad she was.

I managed to make some burgers that actually stayed in one piece in the pan, tasted quite good too.

I am also going to admit to something really BAD, I use tins of stewing steak to make hot pots & curries really tasty & quick.
Also tinned mince with some proper mince mixed in makes great bolognaise & shephards pie. I will now retire nanight and hang my head. Bonus is it makes the old pension go further.
