Re: whats on the menu
Pizza again, but this time instead of tomato base I used toast toppers (they are 2 for £1 in the Pound Shop) extra mushrooms, peppers sweetcorn meat a sliced tomato & cheese.
very nice, but I prefer the tomato base.

Re: whats on the menu
They are available in most supers still, but a bit pricey, £1 for 2 in the pound shop is good though, & they still make a quick tea.

Sea bass topped with walnut pesto, grated carrot and courgette, en papillotte, and minty spiced couscous. Cheap and cheerful.
Re: whats on the menu
Frozen instant homemade sweet & sour pork, stir fried veg & new potatoes. Yummy if I do say so.
For tea, homemade quiche of some sort LOL & salad with thinings from the lettuce, radish & onions, also broad beans & peas from the garden & a potatoe salad as I cooked too many potatos at lunch time

Re: whats on the menu
The last of the home raised quail packets thawed out and fried with gravy made from the pan juices. Served with a casserole made from home grown sweet onions and heritage lemon squash and smashed spuds.
It was fab but I was going to bake the first of the Black Futsu squash to go with the above but it wasnt ready! Never having grown a winter squash its proving hard to judge ripeness

Not rabbit?
Baby broad beans ( picked and on to plate in 30 mins!!), fusili pasta with green pesto and parmesan, mushrooms, broccoli and grilled chicken thighs, butterflied so they crisped up nicely.
Didn't think I would eat it all, but YUM, ...I did.......

Re: whats on the menu
Slow cooked broad bean and smoked sausage casserole (I think there's an Italian name for it) and new potatoes. Although you simmer it on a very low heat it cooked quicker than I expected and it had to sit for a while until I cooked the potatoes!

Re: whats on the menu
Yesterday I made
2 cottage pies
2 beef casserole
2 pork casserole
1 sausage casserole
Result a lot of instant meals in the freezer which just need veg or potatos/rice/pasta, which also means time for me to do some "ME" things.

(Billy - cover your eyes)
Vegemince bolognaise and spaghetti.
There should be a windfalls apple crumble to follow, but haven't got it together to go and gather the apples yet.
Today we eat supper with Miss JG, so we eat vegan.

C-H Jnr and I have been out on our bikes on the redways of Milton Keynes today, so it was a matter of using what was to hand when we got home - potato cakes with the potatoes I dug yesterday, and mediterranean style roasted veg - peppers, courgette, red florence onion, tomatoes drizzled with olive oil and tossed with basil and garlic.

Made a big pot of pea & ham/bacon soup. Was very tasty. Makes a change to make a specific soup as it is usually just throw in any leftovers & whatever else I can find.
