Is this like those comprehension exercises you got to do in school to check that you were actually reading things? Wink

Not been round the charity shops here for ages (mainly as I don't think I'd fit in some of them physically any more!) Now that I have sorted my bookcases out I can see just how many books I still have to read, so stopped buying books for a bit as a result. Also have all the maternity clothes for me that I need and everything for Baby C as well - so just waiting until I know what sex Baby C is as I'm sure he/she will be getting plenty from them by way of next size up clothes and toys and books!

A lot of OH's art projects when he was teaching were based around books he had bought from charity shops, and cut up and made into laminated sheets. Our three kids were brought up on charity shop shopping - and they knew which ones to hold their breath in because of the smell!! (Charity shops have come a long way from that point in the last 20 years!! My favourite is British Heart Foundation where the clothes are really well sorted out and sized)

Had a sweet day at a church op shop today, found a whole basket of woollen jumpers for fifty cents each, and I bought the lot, in total $2.50! So now I have three more pairs of longies for the kids and some gloves and matching scarf for me Smile

Wow - some good finds there BJM. I may well take myself into town this afternoon to pass the time and have a good rummage in our local charity shops. Not done so for a while, but feeling inspired now...

Can't remember the title Embarassed and it's downstairs and I can't be bothered to look (sorry!) but it was a Penguin Crime Fiction one from the days when they all had nice white and green covers. I sort of collect them when I see them in charity shops and generally find that they're good reads as well. I have a nice shelf of orange spined ones too (general fiction) and have to admit to being very shallow and just liking how they look on the shelf. Do try to read them all too!

I like the green and white Penguin crime fiction too. And when we re decorated our front room apricot, I planned to put all my old Penguin books from when they still had orange spines there. Got home to find a row of Terry Pratchett's had beaten me to it!
